West End

Inspired by the serene beauty of historic Victorian homes in Aspen’s West End, this new residence masterfully blends modern living concepts with classic architectural forms. Nestled on a prominent corner, the home’s exterior remains subtle and unobtrusive. In contrast, the interior captivates with its stunning array of textures, colors and intricate details. This enchanting residence not only captivates the eye but also warmly invites all who enter to feel at home.

A unique aspect of this project involved the careful relocation of a historic 1890s home that previously occupied the site. This endeavor required close collaboration with the Aspen Historic Preservation Commission to ensure the preservation of its architectural integrity while placing it on a new foundation at the east edge of the property.

Gulf View

This home was designed for a family of five that tragically lost their home in a wildfire. After bouncing around temporary housing after the fire, the mother and father simply wanted their three boys to have a permanent home they could grow into. It was also important to create outdoor spaces for the entire family to use year-round. Sitting on the Choctawatchee Bay there are sightlines from the steel front door all the way to the water. Painted brick and a reclaimed slate roof add a sense of permanence to this coastal retreat. The plan is functional and open for entertaining and also accommodating the ever-growing 3 boys. One of the more popular features is an oversized bourbon bar in the center of the home that keeps people out of the kitchen.

 Cherryville

These clients wanted to create authenticity while adding their personal touch to a home that had good bones but no real personality. A true addition by subtraction – this renovation started with a dated traditional home that was in desperate need of a more restrained design. Heavy columns and trim were eliminated or replaced with more appropriate proportions. The exterior brick was replaced with a reclaimed one and the asphalt shingle roof was replaced with a Spanish slate. The kitchen and primary suite was gutted and an unnecessary second stair was removed open up the relationship between the kitchen and dining room. The wife, an antiques collector, brought an eclectic, old world feel to the home with many items from her personal collection.

Beaver Creek

Engaged by a former client for an extensive gut-and-remodel project, we delivered a penthouse retreat that blends functionality and increased square footage with unparalleled style. We began with the hard-won HOA approval to enlarge the windows facing the slopes of Beaver Creek and added an all-new stairway to convert unfinished attic space into an additional guest bedroom suite.

This complex project required close collaboration with renowned interior designer Suzanne Kasler, as well as structural, mechanical, and fire suppression consultants. Technical elements are seamlessly integrated with the elegant finishes and sophisticated décor. Systems such as A/C ducting and motorized shades are discreetly hidden, preserving the home's tranquil atmosphere.
